CURATORs
Benjamin Cunningham is an undergraduate political science and fine arts student at The George Washington University (expected BA’26). Cunningham is an accomplished artist, having presented work in over a dozen exhibits, and, most recently, been awarded residencies in Brescia, Italy and The New York Academy of Art in NYC. Cunningham intends to utilize the exhibition as a reference point for examining wartime artwork as a sociological device for stimulating activism and advocacy. As an artist and poet he aims to highlight the storylines and artwork of Ukrainian artists to propose art-making as a means of survival and cultural resistance.
Yevgen Nemchenko came to the United States from Ukraine 20 years ago and has been collecting art and antiques for over 10. After the invasion, Yevgen used his network in the Ukrainian art world to purchase a number of artworks by contemporary Ukrainian artists. Utilizing his professional project management experience, he has launched eight exhibits to date, one of which took place in the oldest private art gallery in Washington, DC. Yevgen intends to continue this endeavor to help artists in this time of need and give their work global exposure.
